Building stone used for the Fife Arms, showing 'mullions' that have developed in the locally quarried Keith Granite. The Keith area is located upon the 'Portsoy Shear Zone', which is a significant regional zone of intense deformation that effectively stretched-out the granite and its surrounding rocks during Caledonian mountain building.
