Taken from almost exactly the same spot as this view https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3830363 from 2014. Remarkably little has changed in the intervening period other than the extent of on-street parking. A.A. was one of three consortia of small bus operators in west Ayrshire, in this instance serving principally the Ayr to Ardrossan corridor. By the 1970s, the original 7 operators had reduced to three, and this particular bus was operated by Young's of Ayr. It is a Leyland Atlantean with Northern Counties bodywork, bought new in 1965.
