Old Milestone, A39, Main Street, West of Walton

The milestone was located near Lynch Farm on the grass verge on the north side of the road. Parish of Walton (Mendip district). Cast iron post, plated iron casting design, erected by the Bridgwater turnpike trust in the 19th century. The date of the image is not known but it was taken before the milestone went missing sometime between 2000 and 2002. Inscription reads: WELLS / 10 /GLASTONBURY / 4 /B.
