The pair of houses as we see them now date from the period around 1700, although the listing details describe "substantial elements of an earlier structure in no 1" (presumably internally) and the side elevation of no 2 as being "possibly timber-framed". They were collectively Grade II* listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101247196 & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1247196 in 1953.
