Shireoaks Colliery, near Worksop, had its own canal basin for loading coal. Even when the colliery was still working, this basin was partly filled in. Nowadays, with the colliery long gone, this basin is now a fairly large marina for pleasure traffic. Whilst the year is correct (1991) the actual date taken is unknown.
