A short way along Westgate Lane from 'Thatch Cottage' is this smaller residence which is thought to date from the late 17thC. Thatch is not that uncommon in and around the Vale of Pickering, perhaps the best known thatched building being the Star Inn at Harome Image which had a devastating fire a few weeks before this was written.
