Rose Cottage (nearer the camera) and Little Rose Cottage were built in the early or mid 18th century. Constructed of coursed rubble stone under a slate roof. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1088620 Blockley is a large village in the Cotswold District of Gloucestershire, some 3 miles northwest of Moreton-in-Marsh. The village has its roots in the wool industry but it became a prosperous centre of the silk industry in the 18th and 19th centuries. The silk mills used the waters of the Brockley Brook, a tributary of Knee Brook which flows into the River Stour.
