Taken at almost exactly the same spot as Hugh Venables' 2019 view https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6740386 , it's interesting to spot all the changes. The locality is still a major bus boarding area, although the Corporation buses have long since been superseded by private companies. Perrings on the corner, (Laura Ashley in 2019) were a major chain of house furnishers in the south and south-east of England. Behind the bus, most of the buildings, including the tower block have disappeared. The bus is an AEC Regent V with Neepsend bodywork, new in 1967 and the penultimate rear-entrance double-decker to join the Southampton fleet. This is one of a series of views featuring buses in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=137652761
