The moment just after the Christmas lights have been switched on, a great event that attracts crowds to the town centre. Though there was no late night opening for the retail premises and shops - which I find a bit baffling! Coordinating the two events might have been good for retailers and their customers? As it was peripatetic sellers of unicorn balloons, illuminated swords and similar tat / novelties were present in numbers are very ready to capitalise on the event, selling said balloons for £10 each!
