Introduction

The photograph on this page of A bit of what was here before by Des Blenkinsopp as part of the Geograph project.

The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

This area is only recently urbanised. Some remnants of the old landscape can still be found in among the houses. There is a stream through here, so maybe flood risk is the only reason it's not been built on, but it's a nice bit of open space all the same
