These recently built apartments are on the site of John Logie Baird's last house. Baird, a pioneer in the invention and development of television, demonstrated the world's first live working television system on 26 January 1926 and did much of his work while living in nearby Hastings. However, he is credited with patenting the first recording and playback machine while living in the house formerly on this Bexhill site before his death in 1946.
