Wood Street Village: Footpath to Littlefield Manor

There's something a little odd here. The footpath starts off from Wood Street Village down a track off Frog Grove Lane, but, while the track continues, and is beyond the hedge to the left here, the footpath suddenly jumps through the hedge and continues down here, down the right side of the hedge, along a now well-defined footpath but one which looks like a fairly modern intake from the field, with concrete posts defining the boundary. To be honest I missed the turn and carried on down the track until it petered out at the entrance to a smallholding. I only found the footpath again when I backtracked. Wood Street Brook runs along the line of trees at the bottom of the valley.
