Unveiled in January, 1921, Gargrave's war memorial is in the form of a Latin cross. The memorial stands in Roadside Gardens near Gargrave Bridge. Gargrave is a large village in North Yorkshire, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, some 4 miles northwest of Skipton. The village sits astride the A65 trunk road and the Pennine Way long distance path passes through the village. The River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal run through the village. Gargrave is very popular with hikers and cyclists.
