This was Penarth's Post Office designed by A R Myers, an HM Office of Works architect in 1936 and opened in the same year. It has strong Art Deco features and may have been influenced by transport design in London. A sympathetic extension was constructed in 1990. The Post Office building and the letter box are both listed structures.
