The latest mural to be painted by ATM, an artist commissioned by Suffolk Wildlife Trust. The mural trail was unveiled to celebrate the £5m extension of the Carlton Marshes reserve, began in October 2018 with the aim to "bring wildlife into the town" as the works showcase "iconic marshland species" that can be seen at Carlton Marshes. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7020842 Bitterns are birds belonging to the subfamily of the heron family Ardeidae. They tend to have shorter necks and far more secretive than other members of the family. very difficult to see, as it moves silently through reeds at water's edge, looking for fish. The males make a deep far-carrying, booming sound in spring. Its reedbed-dependent small population make it an Amber List species, which includes the avocet. It is also a Schedule 1 species. The writer has heard them on the Carlton Marshes. This mural is the latest of five; the other four can be seen here Image Image Image Image http://atmstreetart.com/
