The part of Aston Wood north of the A40 road has been named by the National Trust as Juniper Wood, this photo shows their sign on the way up from the Ridgeway. The wood is mainly beech, the light green leaves between the two notice boards, but with a mixture of other trees, the dark green leaves on the left are juniper. The sign on the right shows the Aston Rowant Discovery Trail developed by the parish council.
