This pub is on the corner of Craven Street and Lord Street in the Chapel Fields area of Coventry. The Craven name comes from the Earl of Craven, a trustee of Sir Thomas White's charity which owned land here in the 19th century. Although the area was built up from the 1840s, the first known reference to the pub dates from 1872. Judging from the display in the window, Christmas has come early here.
