Looking towards the crossroads where Carmen Street, Jacksons Lane (left), Carmel Street (ahead) and School Street (right) meet. New Farm House is on the corner on the right of the picture. Just beyond the street lamp is a dark green cast-iron sewer vent pipe, partly obscured by foliage. It has the usual sort of decorative base and a plain rim at the top, which on this drab November morning can just about be made out poking through dark leaves.
