This must once have been a splendid house (note the ornaments on the roof). Now it has fallen into ruin, as have the extensive farm buildings adjoining it. What happened here? When were these buildings last occupied? Why haven't even the potentially useful farm buildings been kept in use? The answer is that there was a fire in the 1990's (signs of it are visible). In 2006 a report said that 'sufficient structure remains to consider its rebuilding justifiable in listed building terms': http://www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/our_council/council/minutes,_agendas__reports/reports/cabinet/2007/07-10-03/listed_buildings/appendix_listed_buildings.aspx [2018 update: after suffering further neglect, including the loss of the roof ornaments, this building has been sold to a local builder who is rebuilding the interior.]
