Showy, a nod to its origins as the Imperial Hotel, built in 1823. The architect may have been G.A. Underwood. The protruding ground floor was added by John Rutherford of the Board of Works in 1906 when the building served as a post office. Grade II listed. Now a branch of bookseller Waterstones.
