The Levelling Stone in Coventry's Upper Precinct Image Easily overlooked and walked over every day by people who don't even notice it, this was the point in the centre of Coventry where architect Donald Gibson placed his theodolite for the rebuilding of Coventry city centre after the devastation of the World War II bombing of the city. The stone features a phoenix figure, representing Coventry rising from the ashes, by sculptor Trevor Tennant.
