Nothing is so far known of this diminutive monument. It is at the foot of a large tree, one of several Giant Redwoods in the grounds of the hospice. Judging by the weathering of the stone, and its style, the obelisk and the trees must have belonged to an earlier property, Myton Grange, a mansion in extensive grounds, believed to date from the Regency period.
