Looking down over the town from New Road and along the Chesil Beach. The prominent row of oil tanks and associated buildings were related to the anti-submarine training establishment and helicopter station RNAS Portland (HMS Osprey). Since the base closed in 1999, the site has been redeveloped. By 2012 Osprey Quay, as it is now known, had been transformed into a mixed use site. As well being home to the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, the site offered over 11 hectares of business space, along with a new Dean & Reddyhoff Marina, Portland Marina https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RNAS_Portland_(HMS_Osprey).
