In 1960 the BBC produced a documentary, Borrowed Pasture, based on the lives of two Polish refugees who had eked out a living for the previous 12 years on a remote farm in rural Carmarthenshire. Pen y Gaer was that farm. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00gxvjj/borrowed-pasture The poignant story is made even more moving by the voice of the narrator, Richard Burton.
