Photograph on display in A. McWhinney (Butcher) 4a Castle Street, Comber. County Down Northern Ireland. Corporal S4/064308 Samuel John WALSH Royal Army Service Corps. In France 3 October 1915. Discharged to Class Z 4 May 1919. (The Class Z Reserve was a Reserve contingent of the British Army consisting of previously enlisted soldiers, now discharged) His service records did not survive the London Blitz, WW2. Born 28 September 1891 at Blaris, Lisburn, County Down to John and Sarah Walsh nee Hill. 1901 residing with his parents at 7 Ballystockart, In 1911 the family had moved to number 14. His occupation then was clerk of a distillery He first married Annie Elizabeth Foyle in 1926 and died 30 October 1933 aged 29 years. Her last address was 24 Belveder Park, Stranmillis, Belfast. Laid to rest 1 November Will Calendars PRONI Full Abstract : Walsh Annie Elizabeth of 24 Belvedere Park Belfast died 30 October 1933 Administration Belfast 13 June to Samuel John Walsh mercantile clerk the husband. Effects £26 16s. He died 22 October 1951 at Wellington Place aged 60 years. His last address was the same as his wife. Laid to rest 24 October Will Calendars PRONI Full Abstract : Walsh Samuel John of 24 Belvedere Park Belfast mercantile clerk died 22 October 1951 at Wellington Place Belfast Probate Belfast 14 December to Florence Walsh the widow. Effects £587 14s. 8d. He married his sister-in-law Florence Margaret Foyle in 1934 and she died 22 January 1985 aged 78 years. Her last address was 27 Ava Street, Ormeau Road, Belfast. Laid to rest 24 January. They are all at rest in Dundonald Cemetery in Plot C2 Grave 129.
