In the upper floor of Tywyn Wharf railway station is the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum, which has been at the station since the museum opened in 1955. The museum contains a fine recreation of the Reverend Wilbert Awdry's study, creator of the Railway Series books that were later adapted for the Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends television show.
