Lady Godiva, her sisters and friends make their way with banners from the Godiva statue in Broadgate towards Holy Trinity Church and the Priory Gardens. This was the second day of the two day celebrations, which are described in more detail at Image In the words of the pamphlet for the event published by the Godiva Sisters: "In ancient times an annual feast was held on the day of [Godiva's] death, which was known as Dame Goodyvers Day. The Guild of Cappers and Felt Makers held a special ceremony during which a candle was lit and prayers for the soul of Godiva was [sic] said. Then a great feast was held. After 400 years this feast was restored into the calendar of Coventry after by our present-day official Lady Godiva, Pru Poretta MBE. We gather as a multicultural, multifaith and multiethnic people. Godiva and her Godiva Sisters share this event for everyone, an event which expresses community cohesion in our city of peace and reconciliation."
