Gardeners have been tidying up the rockery and ornamental garden at the south end of the formal gardens. The somewhat exotic palms can be found all over Torbay. The last time they were severely affected by the cold was in the early 1980s, but even then , they sprouted up from the bases. The main road heading into Paignton can be seen below the gardens.
