The Bike Station refurbishes donated bikes and gets them back out there. At the time bikes and parts were, like many things, in short supply, so this was a very useful service. Demand was greater than ever, coinciding with the mindless reintroduction of trade barriers. I had a bike off the road for 7 months, too much bother exporting the necessary part, which languished in a Hungarian warehouse.
