Burntcommon: Former A3 London Road dual carriageway

Here's a curiosity, illustrated well by the Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 mapping which shows a brown road with an adjacent parallel yellow road. This is the yellow road and was formerly the southbound carriageway of the A3 London Road. When the A3 Ripley Bypass was built it took off from this dual carriageway around the south-west corner of this grid square, but only a northbound exit from the new bypass was built, and utilized the northbound road of the dual carriageway. That road was downgraded and became the B2215, while the only purpose of this road now is for traffic from the Burntcommon roundabout to reach the road called Woodhill that leads to Sendgrove, Send Church, and Cartbridge. Clear??!!
