Commissioned by musicMagpie https://www.musicmagpie.co.uk/mountrecyclemore/ this incredible sculpture was originally on display at Sandy Acres in Cornwall facing Carbis Bay where the G7 conference was taking place in June 2021. It depicts the faces of the leaders of the G7 made entirely out of e-waste. It was created by artists Joe Rush https://www.joerush.com/ and Alex Wreckage of the Mutoid Waste Company https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutoid_Waste_Company and was designed to raise awareness of the global e-waste crisis and to encourage people to act responsibly with their old electronics, doing something that is both smart for them and smart for the planet. The seven leaders depicted in the sculpture are (left to right): French President Emmanuel Macron Image Japan's Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga Image Italy's Prime Minister Mario Draghi Image Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Image Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel Image US President Joe Biden Image UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson Image The sculpture now stands outside musicMagpie's offices in Stockport Exchange by the railway station.
