This row of shops, which include a barber and a florist, continues to flourish despite its location by an extremely busy road junction where a slip road from the A444 joins Holbrook Lane. The large orange sign on the side wall has been placed there by Dhillons, a Coventry craft brewery. It expresses support for the Indian farmers demonstrating against three Farm Acts passed in 2020 by the Indian parliament with the aim of deregulating agricultural markets. The farmers and their supporters have organised large protests in Delhi and elsewhere, including Birmingham, arguing that the laws threaten the livelihood of farmers in India, and especially in the states of Punjab and Haryana. 'Kisan ekta Zindabaad' is a Punjabi slogan, apparently meaning 'Long live farmers' unity'. See this interview https://lpeproject.org/blog/long-live-farmer-laborer-unity-contextualizing-the-massive-resistance-going-on-in-india/ and this Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020%E2%80%932021_Indian_farmers%27_protest for some context.
