Amid the surrounding sprawl of suburbia, King George's Fields provide the people of Barnet with a green oasis. Most of the fields were bought for the public in 1935 to mark the Silver Jubilee of King George V. As you can see if you look closely at the centre of the photo, there are distant views across to Canary Wharf.
