The Royal Station Hotel was opened in 1851 alongside the Paragon railway station. It was destroyed by fire in 1990 but has been restored to its former glory. Its name was changed to the Royal Hotel, but is presently trading as the Mercure Hull Royal Hotel. Access to the hotel is also afforded via the railway station. Grade II* Listed Building https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1218434 To the right of the main entrance to the hotel is a classical-style statue of a bare-breasted woman. I have been unable to trace any information about this work of art.
