The photograph on this page of One of many water sources by Neil Owen as part of the Geograph project.

The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

Next to this pump (a Joseph Evans product) is a plaque that relates the story of public water supply in Atworth and Purlpit. It counts this as one of six public pumps in the area; they supplemented the 76 private boreholes that existed until a piped supply arrived after WWII.
