This rather unusual-looking building dates from the late 17th or early 18th century, and was Category B listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/200380865-12-shore-street-anstruther-easter-kilrenny#.YR1dm45KjIU in 1972. The listing specifically describes the cladding on the ground floor as 'unfortunate modern', from which it can be assumed it's perhaps a 1960s addition. It also mentions the (window) margins as being painted, which they were until the most recent external refresh in the last few years.
