The Stenbury trail, which has bridleway status along here, has followed a stony track up from Godshill. It now heads off through the grass towards Wroxall. The track continues as a footpath to Appuldurcombe House, now a ruin. The track was once a driveway to the house and is still the access for the lodge house at the disused Fremantle Gate into the park, a short way behind me here.
