In mellow evening sunlight, looking a little north of east along Old Etruria Road. Before the A53 Etruria Road dual carriageway (adjacent, off to the left) was built, the renamed Etruria Old Road was called Lord Street, and was the main route between Newcastle-under-Lyme and Hanley. The public house is the highly recommended Holy Inadequate, formerly Railway Hotel, formerly Shelton Bar, formerly New Rendezvous. Since 2017, it has operated its own on-site micro-brewery producing Inadequate Ale.
