Belaying its ancient appearance, the church was erected as a prefabricated structure in 1903 and the thatch roof was added later to improve its appearance. Pevsner dismisses it in one line as a 'fake' but its Grade-II listing (LB1383240: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1383240 ) is a little more sympathetic.
