New suburban housing on the Bellway section of the development along the Lasswade Road (Pincott Drive). These are mainly detached houses for owner-occupation but there are some terraced houses available for social rent or on Golden Share terms. The Strategic Development Plan for South East Scotland 2013 stated Edinburgh needed over 20,000 houses by 2026. The development plan identified South East Edinburgh as a strategic development area with the potential to provide 7,800 homes on 20 hectares of farmland.
