Built as commercial premises in the early part of the 19th century (1823) and until fairly recently occupied by the Cheltenham & Gloucester Building Society. The building was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254518-no-45-high-street-shrewsbury & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254518 in 1972.
