This villa, St George's House, the adjacent villa on the corner of St George's Road and Bayshill Road Image, and a third building which links the two villas Image have been converted into retirement apartments and are now united under the address of One Bayshill Road. Built circa 1845 in Classical style with a Corinthian portico in stuccoed brick with a concealed roof. The building has been used as a hotel, and later as offices for a multinational company. Bayshill Road has been described as 'one of the great roads for architecture in all England'. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1386742 Cheltenham is located at the foot of the Cotswold scarp with the small River Chelt flowing through the town. After the discovery of mineral springs in 1716 Cheltenham became a spa town and many Regency houses and other buildings were erected. The town is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, four days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at the nearby racecourse.
