The path remains, and people are still obviously using it, but it could hardly be closer to a 20 foot drop into the Ceiriog here. We passed through with extreme caution. But the path IS closed and we should really have diverted, which is easy, though time consuming. But less inconvenient than a fall here and two broken legs etc etc. I have since found out that the Afon Ceiriog claims to be Wales' fastest flowing river. Hence it wants to make its course as straight as possible and remove or erode all obstacles. This would certainly account for the changes seen here!
