#27 of 61 big bear sculptures, this one was decorated by Sarah Abbot and is located near Charter Square. Artist Sarah Abbott has taken inspiration from the original location of the Bear sculpture on which the trail is inspired – the Bear pit in Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens. Her design takes on a tropical form, the leaves and plants incorporated on the Bear’s surface make reference to the Botanical Gardens Glasshouse and the tropical plants that are housed there.
