There were many more horses on the common when this photograph was taken, but this was the best view of the wet land. This is a normal feature, not an exceptional consequence of the recent wet winter. Very soon the common will be invaded by frogs and then the pools will be full of spawn. The houses behind the trees are on Spring Gardens.
