There is a Blue Plaque Image on this house on Royal Parade, the plaque commemorates Ronald Summerfield an antique dealer and collector who lived here from 1952 until his death in 1989. He had an antiques shop in nearby Montpellier; both his house and shop were packed with antiques and it is estimated there were in excess of one and a half million items at the time of his death. It took four men four months to catalogue everything. The auction last many days realising around £7 million which went into a charitable trust. Summerfield never married.
