It's not easy to tell from the exterior view, but the heart of this cottage is a 15th or 16th century open hall house, built with a true cruck-framed construction, albeit later altered and extended. It was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101055262-wayside-leighton-and-eaton-constantine#.YO39j-hKjI.U & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1055262 in 1986
