On the left are the premises of Grindall's of Wem, funeral directors. It remains independent although the Grindall family are no longer involved having sold the business in 1988. Beyond that is the Methodist church with its curious stubby spire. This building dates from 1926 when it replaced an earlier Primitive Methodist chapel on Chapel Street.
