Dating from the early 19th century, both parts of this former pair of houses have had shopfronts inserted in the 20th and probably converted to flats above; they were collectively Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101054390-41-and-43-high-street-newport#.YOTGG-hKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1054390 in 1978.
