Direction Sign ? Signpost on Jaywick Lane, Great Clacton

Image: © John V Nicholls Taken: Unknown

Located on the southeast side of the T junction of the B1027 St Johns Road and Jaywick Lane in Great Clacton. 3 arms, 2 now missing, and half-moon finial. The two wooden arms with attached reflective plates in the photo are replacement items and had been lost by 2019. Note JAY WICK rather than JAYWICK on the sole surviving original arm. Note also St Osyth on the finial. The fingerpost is currently located in the former civil parish of Great Clacton, now unparished, but old OS maps consistently show a guide post on the north side of the T junction at TM1505716024, formerly in St Osyth parish, indicating perhaps that it has been moved.
